Shel Silverstein was motivated by what was going on, which was the Civil Legal rights Act. He was also encouraged by close friends and college professor, Robert Cosbey. Shel Silverstein was inspired and influenced by many people things, which includes college professors to what was going on during that period of time. Robert Cosbey was one of Shel's teachers. He influenced him by simply allowing the opportunity to work for the Roosevelt Flashlight, a magazine of razor-sharp opinion and biting humor that kept entertained the student people. His good friend Tomi Ungerer also inspired him. He inspired him by simply by bringing Shel into Ursula Nordstrom's workplace, the overseer of Harper's Department of Books for Boys and Girls, and making him show her his books. Ursula then accepted Shel's book and made these people best-sellers. Shel was one of the many who composed during the Civil Rights Movements. The Detrimental Rights was when people had been fighting for African-American's privileges. The regulations were absurd and not fair at all. In public places, blacks and whites needed to be seperated, blacks and white wines could not perform together, and much more. On the bus blacks were required to sit in the back of the shuttle bus and whites in the front side. Rosa Leisure areas, one of the main people during the Municipal Rights Movements, was soaking in the front of the bus and a white person came and told her to maneuver. She refused to move frequently and then acquired sent to jail. Martin Luther King was also a primary person. Selection speeches and talked about the Civil Privileges Movement.
